Diane Dunn moved to Peru at the turn of the millennium to manifest a vision of a spirituality center in Cusco's Sacred Valley. A center where people from around the world, with different faith traditions and practices, would come together to create a new way of living together in peace, harmony and unity.
After several years of networking with spiritual leaders and groups, in 2006 she felt it was time to organize the first gathering – to envision, experience and manifest the world the way we want it to be. Her original idea was to have spiritual leaders from different traditions around the world come with some of their followers and other interested individuals. The format would be open until all the participants arrived. Only then would the agenda be formulated.
But instead of “leaders and followers” she got ordinary individuals who were interested in doing extraordinary things. And they did. A new vision for the Gathering emerged. In April 2009 people from around the world will gather for a third time to envisioned the world the way they want it to be - with clay, storytelling and meditation. They will experience it through dance, painting, singing, and healing. They will manifest it through a day-long transformation ritual. And perhaps they will do even more because like the other Gatherings, the program will be open allowing all who are there to decide how they want to Envision, Experience and Manifest the world.
A participant named Kent wrote about his experience:
“The conference was designed to be largely extemporaneous utilizing individual participation as the person felt called. I can only describe this as wow. It was a divine flow of energy that was not scripted or rehearsed. The experience of being in this collective was a blessed gift. All beliefs, ideals, and values of the individual were respected and honored with no individual need for recognition. This was what I would term a new unity consciousness, where all the “I”s united to realize their Oneness. Papers, plans and designs weren't required to be drawn up and implemented in the future. The world was changed for each of us individually and collectively when we gathered to remember and recognize who and what WE are.”
Val wrote:
“I was reminded how powerful it is to bring a group of people together and encourage them to explore their own power. I believe that we must know and love who we are as individuals and particular groups of people if we are to know and love other individuals and groups so that one day there is no “us and them,' simply US. I was reminded how important it is to find out what holds us back from being our true selves so we can release it and become channels for healing in the world. I was shown again, that we are vessels of light and healing, even when we don't think we can possibly be.”
Each ones world, personal and collective was changed and therefore each life that they touched since. What they created was more than the sum of the parts each contributed. This is the power of ritual, of collective envisioning, of group manifestation.
Come and experience for yourself this power of transformation. April 16-20, 2009. Envision, Experience and Manifest the word the way we want it to be.
